Mastering Depolarizing Muscular Blocking Agents

Mastering Depolarizing Muscular Blocking Agents

This topic is not for everyone, however for some this is a very important topic. We use depolarizing muscular blocking agents to facilitate rapid sequence intubation.  There are two types of muscular blocking agents, ones that depolarize the cell, and ones that do not. Both achieve the same effect which is paralyses, but medically speaking achieve that effect in completely different ways.

In this video we talk about the mechanisms of action, the difference between depolarizing and non-depolarizing agents, and some contraindications of the drug.

Do you find yourself struggling to learn the different types of medications? We have created a massive Advanced pharmacology course so you can crush that stress. It is exclusively available for Master Your Medics Members. You can learn about the membership here. Master Your Medics Membership
