College can be the best time of your life. Although you have lots of opportunity to learn new things, meet new people and experience life, student life has its drawbacks as well. For instance, you may find it to be incredibly stressful. Study related stress is a real thing. Worrying and working too hard can lead to burnout. But how can you keep from letting it get the best of you? Try some of these ideas for dealing with the stresses of studying so you have a little more room to enjoy this season of life.
Get Up and Leave
Leave the location you have been cramming notes for some time to relax and re-energize. Go for a walk with your dog or walk a nature trail. Go grab a bite to eat with friends or a quick cup of coffee or a healthy snack. Just remember to come back and study after a while.
Be Active
One of the best methods for stress relief comes through physical activity. Whether you go play a round of ultimate or hit the gym for a vigorous workout, you will find that being active for a period can help you to release tension.
Do Something You Enjoy
Hobbies are another great way to relax. Set your books on the shelf and take an hour or so to put your efforts toward a hobby you enjoy.
Listen to some music, get physical, set a timer and watch a couple episodes on your favorite YouTube channel or take a quick nap.
Relax
Do some yoga or tai chi to give your mind and muscles a break. Get a massage or take a hot bubble bath. Sip on a cup of chamomile tea. Any of these are excellent ways to relieve tension.
